Ways to Help The Environment:

Use florescent lightbulbs.
If you need in-room appliances, go energy efficient/ Energy Star.
Reduce waste by using reusable kitchen ware.
Unplug TVs, stereos, computers and other electronics when not in use!
Keep AC use to a minimum!
Use a fan or open a window.
Choose an FSC-certified bed frame!
Use a water filter or refillable water bottle. We're drowning in plastic.
Try organic cotton! Much softer and no chemicals!
Wash in cold water when doing laundry.
AC alternatives:
-Fans/windows open
-Keep the windows open at night.
-During the day, close windows and blinds and turn off lights.
-Put cold cloths or ice cubes on pulse points to cool down the entire body.
-Wear damp clothes to keep you refreshed.

Everything, every plant, and every animal, human included, were placed upon this earth, we call Turtle Island, with a purpose in mind, and together, each living thing respected form a very perfect balance, when there is harmony, and when one does not take from the other in any way. Man has gone down a wrong path, and interrupted this balance, and man is now sorry, so he continues to fix the problem. When in fact, leaving things alone, they will fix themselves. Men have forgotten the true purpose the Creator put them here for, and that is to look over, protect, and keep the land, the animals, and all of life. Man became greedy and has acted to change these things for his own gain. Instead man is finding out that he has in fact interrupted the perfect flow of life, the great circle of unity and balance, and man himself is now in danger by his own hand. Mankind must change now, and pray it is not too late to bring back the harmony and balance to the great circle.

Anti-Fur Demonstration - Toronto

This Saturday November 22nd 2008 there are two events going on.
1) The Furball by Toronto Cat Rescue
2) The PETA Anti-Fur Demonstration
Which one will I be attending?

If you would like to join me and tons of other local activists (PLEASE DO!), it will be at the Eaton's Centre (2 Dundas Street W) from 3 until 5. It's right on the Yonge subway line. Come and speak up for the millions of animals that die annually for their fur, who are gasses, poisoned, electrocuted anally/ vaginally, or skinned alive. Help convince shoppers to be compassion and boycott fur! Posters and leaflets will be handed out, so just bring yourself and an army of friends and supporters!
